It extends usb. Now you can plug things in from far away. If you want to use 10 of them in a row it won’t work because usb singal are too weak to travel that far. if you want to run a usb cable that long. you need a usb repeater cable.

It’s an electrical lead and does what is is supposed to do. Regarding sturdiness and durability i can’t comment as I have only just got it. but it looks and feels sturdy.
