If the product you are plugging the mini hdmi side into has a hole (like a Raspberry Pi Zero Housing Case). that ledge prevents the cable from sitting flush with the edge of the case. It’s only a couple mm but it’s enough that the prongs that secure the cable in the socket do not latch. I will have to file the hole a tiny bit larger so I can allow the cable to fit securely.
