I wanted to attach my Surface Book to my new monitor. The Surface Book only has a mini DP. I bought a mini DP to HDMI cable first which turned out to be a mistake. My monitor was 2K and I did not know the mini-DP->HDMI I purchased did not support that!.Luckily my 2K monitor had a DP. So I bought this mini-DP->DP cable..I can see the full 2K resolution now. Excellent!
