I purchased a case for my iPad mini 6 (not this one) and it didn’t have the pencil holder. it only allowed the pencil to be attached on the side magnetically. which you could lose easily..I had to purchase this case that has a recess to hold the Apple Pencil and still be able to use the charge function. The pencil won’t ever get lost now..Great case!

This is the second case I have purchased the first being for an iPad Air. Best value and quality is great. Would highly recommend this case especially if you are using a pencil with your iPad.
