Based on all the bad reviews I thought I should chime in. I can understand why people are stating that they are getting the Face ID covered error. I was fortunate enough to read the the reviews before applying on my iPad. I tested it out before applying the screen protector and made sure the pinhole circle was perfectly aligned to the Face ID camera (see picture). When it was perfectly aligned it worked fine. When I shifted it and covered just the slightest bit of the Face ID camera I would get the error. The pinhole is really small so you have to be careful. That said when I applied mine I was able to get if aligned so Face ID is working fine for me (what was weird was that when I first turned on the iPad after the application I did receive error message but has been working fine since then…maybe the neural engine learned?).

So a day later now on day 2 face ID WORKS PERFECTLY. I don’t know what changed but today I was able to set up face I’d and now it works incredibly fast. I’m wondering if overnight there was an update patch or whatever but now it works great and I can’t see myself going back to punching I’m the code ever again. Switched to five stars.
