I used it to soap with and check my lye water temp. It came with the 9v battery. Easy to install then just pull the trigger and off you go.big time saver from probing the sulution.

It isn’t meant to be a precision tool. I need it to measure the temp on a pizza stone. so I don’t mind if it’s off by a few degrees. So far. it seems to be working fine. Haven’t yet tried it on higher temperatures.
