Connected an old VGA monitor to the HDMI port of a Lenovi Ideapad. Worked like a charm didn’t need to look for drivers or even adjust any settings. Perfect. I like that it came w an audio cable and a micro usb to connect to external power source.
I don’t think it works the other way around (vga comp to hdmi monitor). Not that I tried but the description tells you all.

Connecting laptops with HDMI to monitor with VGA. smooth no issues. Was not expecting unit to have audio jack. which was great. was able to connect mini speakers I had for surround sound effect ?? ??

Great value and so easy to set up! Needed it as now working from home and this enables me to attach work lap top to my home upright computer giving me 2 screens to work from. Would highly recommend.
