My docking station for the Dell 7490 laptop decided it would no longer recognize my external VGA monitor. This started after some ‘updates’ were installed.
I found this adapter to fix the problem. I plugged it into the monitor and directly to laptop HDMI and the monitor is now recognized.
The unit also has a 3.5 mm audio port for an external speaker or headphones if you need that.
It also has a micro USB cable for a power source as well but I do not seem to need that. It may be needed depending on the HDMI socket.

Works perfectly. I’m using an Acer TCO’03 monitor for a computer with an ASUS GTX GeForce 1030 graphics card..I haven’t tried the aux jack on the adapter yet. but the adapter for the display is perfect
