My laptop does not have VGA output connection for my projector. This Rankie item uses the Display Port output to connect to the VGA input of my projector letting the 2 (laptop computer and projector) interface with each other making both compatible for viewing whatever is on the laptop screen in VGA resolution. It works well for my application.

I’ve been working from due to covid. My work laptop has a lock on.it and that is right next to the monitor plug. it hits each other causing the monitor plug not to fit right. so I bought this to plug into the USB hub. it works great.
