It”s probably just the old monitor but that display is dark. We are talking an ancient 4:3 15″ lcd though so it is likely just the monitor and not the adapter.

Needed this to connect a Dell PC that only has DP and HDMI to an older (nice) monitor that only has DVI and VGA. As noted. it works perfectly and image quality is excellent.
