The DP connector has a latch to provide secure connection with the port. Press the latch down before unplugging the connector

I think the first one I bought lasted about 3 years but it never got pulled or tugged as it was plugged into a monitor on a swivel base so maybe should have lasted longer . Cable seems pretty sturdy but with that comes a certain stiffness so probably not good for area where tight bend is required….can provide pic as proof of purchase as still have to cable ( errr somewhere I think)

I bought it after I accidentally broke the cable (the lock got stuck inside the plug) that came with my monitor. After a week of use. there’s been no issues so far.
